EMMYS 2019 HOTLIST
It’s time – red carpet season is here. Or in this case, purple carpet. Starting it off with a big bang is the 2019 Emmy awards. You’ve seen the photos by now and you’ve seen our faves on our Instagram story, so now it's time to narrow it down to the ultimate hotlist, the fiercest of them all.
See who got it VERY right. Even if they didn’t win an award, they still won at life.
Mermaid realness: Zendaya in Vera Wang
Poison Ivy who? As soon as you hear that Vera Wang is behind the magic, you just know it’s gonna bang. The dress is so sexy and so gorgeous... Zendaya did not come to play.

The best red and pink cocktail: Mandy Moore in Brandon Maxwell
This is unexpected, but we’re here for it. A hella amount of red and pink brought it to the purple carpet last night, so it would be easy to shrug it off. BUT, that neckline, that slit and that fit makes it an 11/10. Touché, she did that.

Legs for days: Kerry Washington in Alexandre Vauthier Couture
To tell the truth, a white oxford shirt is unconventional for the Emmys. But damn, this look makes us want to throw one on for every upcoming occasion, and it’s all about those pants. Sequin trousers never looked so good. Modern, check. Sexy, double check.

Literal queen: Gwendoline Christie in Gucci
Queen Gwendoline or Queen Guinevere? This look isn’t for everyone, but you can’t say she didn’t nail it. Roman empress goddess but make it historically correct, with a bit of Jesus thrown in. It’s just the greatest and so classically Alessandro Michele.

The plunge of all plunges: MJ Rodriguez in Jason Wu and Emilie Clarke in Valentino
Sorry 'bout it, but we couldn’t choose just one. A minimalist’s dream vs her extra af twin. The category most definitely is glam and we’re so happy to see it. Emilia looks so sexy and sultry and those earrings are to die for. As for MJ, she looks so fierce in hot pink. Emphasis on the hot.

We take our hat off to: Billy Porter in Michael Kors Couture
Honestly, this is kinda toned down for Billy Porter and yet it still slays. That hat. That tie. Those shoes. He can honestly do no wrong in our eyes. Even when he strips it down, he still manages to knock it out the park.

Best kaftan: Karamo Brown in Versace with Kaftan Studio cape
After seeing JLo kill it in Versace this week, we only want Versace updates from now on. Including this kaftan. Side note: you’re boring if you’ve put this in the worst dressed category. Positive vibes only on Karamo’s kaftan, please.

Best co-ord: Greta Lee in Christopher John Rogers
We never knew quite how much we needed a fluorescent green co-ord just like this one. We’ve just seen Tracee Ellis Ross wear this at LFW in hot pink, but green wins, hands down.

And finally, best accessory: Laverne Cox in Monsoori and Edie Parker
Fashion is all about making statements. Laverne channelled this in the best possible way, with a nod to the massive court case being held on October 8. A little bit of love and support for the LGBTQ+ community in times of need, and it’s safe to say that we all stan so, so hard.
