The MTV EMA’s are sadly over now. All we have left to do is judge the decisions, gaze at the outfits and stan the winners (and losers).

2019 was very special, because it was all about the women! From Dua Lipa opening the stage and Halsey collecting the first award of the night, it was clear it was gonna be one for our female musicians and we couldn't be happier to see it.

In case you missed it, we’re here to round up the highs and lows of the night. Of course, you’re gonna see some killer looks, but also the ones who, in our hearts, deserved a crown too... not that we're bitter or anything.

BEST VIDEO

Don’t get us wrong – Taylor Swift’s ME is a shout. But we just couldn’t help but feel like Ariana Grande was robbed. Ariana’s thank u, next took the video game to new levels and deserves to win alone for getting Kris Jenner in a pink tracksuit as the ultimate soccer mom.

BEST SONG

We’re super happs that Billie took home the crown for this one - bad guy is obviously a mood. However, over at the NGO Zine there’s a special place in our hearts for Post Malone. We’ll let it slide this time, seeing as Billie took the win. But not next time…

BEST COLLABORATION

We have one question: why did Billy Ray Cyrus and Lil Nas X not win this category? It was (possibly) the greatest collab of the decade. We’re not angry, we’re disappointed.

BEST LOOK

Halsey, we love you. But why couldn’t there be two winners for this category? Lizzo has been overlooked by TWO categories this year and we’re MAD. Lizzo is a mood, an attitude, a BFF – she’s everything NGO stands for and we’re super sad she didn’t take anything home last night.

BEST UK & IRELAND ACT

Once again, this category is doing it for the girls. Being the boss babes that they are, Little Mix took home the trophy. In the same year that we had Jesy’s powerful documentary and Jade announce that Simon Cowell has tits on BBC2, we can comfortably say this one is so well deserved that it hurts. We still love you Mabel, Dave, Ed Sheeran and Lewis Capaldi.
